Robyn

My name is Robyn. Student of life. I am learning that the journey is always mountainous. Never static.
Yoga has been teaching me the value of finding space in uncomfortable places, letting go of what no longer serves me, and shedding unrealistic expectations of myself.

Robyn

My name is Robyn. Student of life. I am learning that the journey is always mountainous. Never static. It is rarely what I expect it to be. Sometimes, it is so exhilarating I could burst. Other times, I am so overwhelmed I can hardly breathe.
Yoga has been teaching me the value of finding space in uncomfortable places, letting go of what no longer serves me, and shedding unrealistic expectations of myself.
Sometimes I lead yoga practices. I try to create space for my fellow students to have an opportunity to do the same. Life is hard, so we really don't need to be hard on ourselves as well. Yoga is grace.
I still have a lot to learn. A student forever, and that is ideal. I am passionate about the journey and about sharing my yoga practice with others.

Angela H

“Every individual should inject play into their life and prioritize it. Make time for it, because it will infuse you with vitality and sustain you through life’s challenges. Yoga is a universal system of self care for Every Body! Only requirements; your intention and breath. That’s a beautiful thing. Looking forward to connecting with you and sharing a practice that creates awareness, space and release”.

Finding a comfortable environment to work out in has been a challenge for me.  In my late teens and early twenties, I struggled with disordered eating and overexercising.  Part of my recovery was engaging in group fitness and finding connection in that with others.  Mindful Movements has aided me in building community and strengthening my body in a balanced way.

Outside of Mindful Movements, I hold a Masters in Social Work.  I work in private practice providing counselling to adolescents, families and adults from all walks of life.

I always imagined myself as a yoga teacher but could never find the time to commit while working on a demanding role for a large corporation. When I found myself in a career transition, I knew right away that becoming certified was on the top of my list to accomplish.

I have been a member of Mindful Movements studio for a number of years and was excited to be trained by Kym EYRT. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Dec 2023.

I enjoy every moment of sharing this practice with others and the reciprocity I receive through teaching.
